Bulgaria
Jamie is 12 and goes to a boarding school for dyslexic children in Oxfordshire. He travels to the country of his birth, Bulgaria, with his mum, to learn more about life there. He’s blessed into the Orthodox Church and visits a children’s boarding centre, which he finds is like his school back home. He stays on a farm where he learns how to scythe grass the traditional way and is taught how to catch fish with his hands.
Turkey
Twelve-year old Teoman lives in South East London and travels to Turkey, the country where he was born. He plays football with children his age who have to work for a living, and realises how hard their lives are. He visits the world-famous Blue Mosque in Istanbul, and finds it’s not as blue as he thought it would be. He also stays in a mountain village and learns that he doesn’t like cows.
